Our History
In 2021, a bold dream became reality. Chef Walther and his wife Diana set out to redefine Peruvian cuisine, and CevicheStop was born. Originally launched in Culver City, Los Angeles, our restaurant quickly became a local favorite, offering a fresh, modern twist on Peru’s most iconic dishes. From the vibrant flavors of our signature ceviche to bold, unexpected pairings, every bite was a journey through Peru’s rich culinary heritage—reimagined for today’s food lovers.
Now, CevicheStop has transitioned to a new home in La Puente, bringing with it an exciting evolution. We are proud to introduce California’s first-ever fully halal Peruvian restaurant—a groundbreaking step that fuses authentic Peruvian flavors with halal traditions. This is more than just a new location; it’s a bold reimagining of our vision, ensuring that everyone can experience the richness of Peruvian cuisine while staying true to their values. Welcome to the next chapter of CevicheStop—where tradition meets innovation, now in La Puente!
A Culinary Experience Like No Other
At CevicheStop, every dish is crafted with passion, precision, and a deep respect for Peru’s diverse culinary heritage. Chef Walther’s menu is a love letter to the bold, vibrant flavors of Peru, fused with modern creativity to excite every palate.
Start with our signature ceviche, where the freshest fish is marinated in tangy leche de tigre, kissed with Peruvian ají, and perfectly balanced with red onions, sweet potatoes, and cancha. Each bite is a perfect harmony of citrus, spice, and ocean freshness.
For those craving something heartier, our Lomo Saltado is a must-try—tender, wok-fired beef (now 100% halal!) tossed with soy sauce, onions, tomatoes, and served over crispy fries with fluffy white rice. Or indulge in Pollo a la Brasa, our smoky, spice-rubbed rotisserie chicken, slow-roasted to juicy perfection and paired with house-made sauces that pack a flavorful punch.
And let’s not forget the Tacu Tacu, a comforting yet bold dish of crispy rice and creamy beans, topped with your choice of protein, all seared to golden perfection. Or dive into the rich, creamy flavors of Aji de Gallina, a shredded chicken dish bathed in a velvety, spiced Peruvian yellow pepper sauce.
For those with an adventurous palate, Chef Walther brings a modern twist to Peruvian street food with our halal Anticuchos—succulent skewers kissed by the grill, smoky and full of depth. Pair it all with a refreshing Chicha Morada, a sweet, spiced purple corn drink that perfectly complements the meal.
At CevicheStop, we don’t just serve food—we create an experience, a celebration of flavor, culture, and innovation. Whether you’re a longtime lover of Peruvian cuisine or a first-time explorer, our menu is designed to surprise, delight, and bring people together over plates bursting with tradition and bold new twists.
This is CevicheStop. This is the future of Peruvian cuisine—now halal, now in La Puente. Come taste the revolution!
